New Exhibits for the 2016 season


                Veterans Memorial of Fiftieth Anniversary

                               of the Vietnam War


        Courtesy of the Harney Peak/Black Hills Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Their exhibit honors Vietnam War Veterans in Custer County and surrounding Black Hills areas. 



                                  Frontier Justice

                         (downstairs in the basement) 

        Sheriff Wheeler has contributed significantly to the development of the “Frontier Justice” display which features a listing of all the sheriffs in Custer County History and a collection of artifacts explaning the activities in the “lawless” days of this county’s history, including the remnants of the actual tree used to hang "Lame Johnny"  in 1878.
